Peace advocates from Indian and Dutch communities gathered in Amsterdam for a commemoration of Gandhi’s legacy, bringing together the Gandhi Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around Gandhian principles of peace, compassion and respect for human dignity.
Held at Gandhi’s statue on Churchilllaan, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. The meeting opened conversations about future cooperation in educating young people about fundamental human rights.
The Church of Scientology’s support Amsterdam for human rights education is connected with the principles expressed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human rights.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, highlighted the importance of cooperation across different beliefs and backgrounds, stressing that knowledge of human rights can strengthen peaceful and democratic societies.
